711 Million Emails that are currently on the Dark Web. Is yours there?
Benkow, a Paris based cybersecurity research has created a database of Email addresses and passwords (and often names, SSN, phone, physical address) compiled from the Dark Web. You can check to see if you have been ‘pwned’ You can access it here: haveibeenpwned.com
Enter your email address (most of us have a few of them, so check each); the site will give you a ‘green’ (not found which is a good thing) or ‘red’ which means your information was hacked from a breach. It will tell you which breach, when, and what information was garnered.
While we should all be changing passwords periodically, if you show up ‘red’ then please change your password immediately. This is NOT the Experian breach, that is separate; this is a compilation of dark web repositories, brought over to the light web.
